This weekend, I put the 50mm macro lens on the 5D, and on Sunday went out and got these photos on the way to church. I thought I would share them with you, as a way to brighten up the beginning of the work week.

I thought that, to start the week off right, I would share with you some flowers I shot this past weekend. What type of flowers are they, you ask? I am not sure as to their scientific names, but I do know that they are

small flowers,

large flowers,

somewhat erotic(!?) flowers,

and colorful flowers. Go forth, and have a great week!

One of the nice things about staying at the hotel we did was that there is a nice walkway between the hotel and the casino, which is loaded with photographic opportunities flowering plant life. On the down side, when it is HOT outside, that walk can be rather a longish one. However, I prefer to think about the former, and have a couple of shots of the flowers that so thoughtfully posed for me to share with you:

Posting has been slow the past week or so. The home Internet connection is still out, and I am having to depend on free WiFi at the local latte haus, as well as my 3G phone tethered to the Macbook via a Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network.) However, I wanted to make sure you had some reason (e.g. "new content") to come visit me this week, so here goes:

Just to remind you that, in case you think I am "leaf"ing you along, I am "petal"ling as fast as I can. ![]()

This week has been pretty much All About the Meeting (given the fact that my employer is paying for the trip, does anyone find this surprising?), but I have had a few chances to take some photos with my new Canon PowerShot G9. One such opportunity came on Monday, as the group was walking from one building to another for lunch. The sun was out, and the trees in full bloom. Elsewhere, it is a slightly different story, as the petals from these flowers are all over the place.
I got these interesting images of a tree, with the fountain and building behind. I later took these images, and processed them through the Velvia filter in Exposure 2.

So now, what do YOU think?
