I created this image in response to the latest challenge issued by the Wabbyt Womyn over at Shutterblog, titled "Be(e)".
Creating the image was fairly simple. I opened both images (one taken at my son's 20th birthday celebration, the other taken on his 4th birthday) in Photoshop Elements, put them together on two layers (with the upper layer at about 45% opaqueness), and adjusted the location of the 4 year-old image until I had it where I wanted it. Please take a look at this picture, and tell me what you think.

I love the concept but without an explanation I'm not sure I would have realized it wasn't an accidental over-exposure.
Also now I'm craving cake at 6 o'clock in the morning. This does not bode well.

I have discovered that, quite often, this type of photo works best when there is an explanation given. Otherwise, as you noted, people may think it was just a double-exposure.
Cake at 6AM?!? Gosh, I am glad it wasn't his 21st, and he wasn't sitting with a beergarita in front of him... ;-)
