Latest threat to "sacred institution" discovered.
Noted local political blogger Polimom has uncovered another threat to the safety of the Republican Party, and the sanctity of our most cherished social institution.
It all started with this report from the AP concerning the fact that several ancestors of Governor (and presidential candidate) Romney were involved in polygamous relationships. Polimom then drills straight to the heart of the matter, and what has many Americans worried:
...that Mitt possesses the seldom-discussed, carefully concealed Polygamy Gene! And therefore, we should now be Very Worried that Romney won’t be able to control his genetic destiny — that he’ll exercise his executive authority to impose polygamy upon us all!
Sweet Jebus! Oh My boB! This could truly be the final stake through the heart of Marriage As We Know It!
Shortly, we can expect to see proposals by both the Federal and State governments to outlaw polygamous marriage, while others will attempt to compromise and allow the polygamous to practice "civil unions" and have "commitment ceremonies", so long as they don't attempt to refer to their relationships using the dreaded "M-word".
