Joe Biden clarifies earlier remarks on Obama, sticks other foot in mouth
In a carefully prepared statement today, Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) clarified his earlier remarks about Sen. Barack Obama (D-Il), in which he said
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy... I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
In his statement, he alluded to the controversy his words had generated, and said that he was "really sorry" if any unarticulate, dull, filthy, and ugly looking people were offended by his earlier remarks. He then went on to explain that his comments were intended to point out that Sen. Obama looks as if he takes good care of himself, working out regularly at a gym to keep in shape, and possibly even hiring a consultant or Five to help him maintain his outward appearance. This is in stark contrast to other candidates, Biden then said, "for example, Hillary Clinton, that woman's butt is as large as a freakin' AIRCRAFT CARRIER! Just check out all that Junk in Her Trunk!"
