Looks like God forgot to pay the heating bill again, as a major cold front swept through Texas yesterday. I saw reports of snow in Amarillo, and heard reports as early as yesterday AM of flights into D/FW airport being cancelled due to snow and ice conditions.

Well, we certainly didn't get anything that dramatic here, but it did look sorta like a "blue Norther" hit us. Temperatures dropped 20 degrees within a matter of minutes, and as this hit during the AM rush hour, we did have some traffic problems. By afternoon, the temps were into the 30s, wind chill in the 20s. For a day where it was 72 degrees when I left for work (and dressed for that temp), those afternoon temps were an eye-opener!

Anyway, we got the heater fired up yesterday evening, and it didn't even set off the smoke detectors. Now, the high electric bills due to the A/C will be replaced by high electric bills due to the heater. Oh well...

And, last night the forecast said we could expect these temps to remain low through the weekend. On the other hand, it should clear up, and be good photography weather this weekend. Yea!
